Crafts: Make your own flower hair accessory

I made this flower hair clip yesterday from some synthetic fabric I had on hand.  It is so easy and really fun…it involved FIRE too (so be careful).  Basically, you cut circles out of your fabric (one smaller than the next).  You then cut slits to make the petals and then hold your fabric above a candle to cinch all the edges so they curl.  Stack the circles together, sew (or hot glue) the middle and add beads, buttons, and so on.  Attach the flower to a hair clip or headband with hot glue. For more detailed instructions, head to Simply Vintagegirl here. I’m looking forward to shopping at my local fabric store soon for some more yummy poly/silky fabrics.  =)
