Fleece Lined Crochet Headband

This Pattern fits me and also my daughters! So cute, warm, and fashionable. Enjoy!

Size: ~20”

Hook Size: I

Yarn: Vanna White medium worsted weight (I bought at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon)


CH: chain

SC: single crochet

DC: double crochet

TC: triple crochet

SL: slip stitch

SK: skip

tog: together

Chain 9

Row 1: DC in 4th ch from hook, DC in next 6 stitches

(start increase)

Row 2: CH 3, 2 DC in next stitch, DC in remaining stitches

Row 3-8: repeat row 2

(now work in the 13 stitches, no more increasing)

Row 9: CH 3, *DC in next stitch, SC in next stitch, repeat from *

Row 10-28: repeat row 9

Row 29: CH 3, DC til end

(start decrease)

Row 30: CH 3, DC, DC 2 tog, DC to end

Row 31-37: repeat row 30

Crochet Flower:

Chain 5, Join

Round 1: 10 SC through loop, join with SL in the beginning of SC

Round 2: CH 1, SC in the same stitch, *CH 3, SK 1 SC, SC in the next, repeat 5 times from *, the last chain 3 will be a slip stich to join (5 chain 3 loops all together)

Round 3: Ch 1, *SC, DC, 2 TC, DC, SC in next loop, repeat 5 times total from *, SL in CH 1 to complete flower.

Adding the Fleece:

  • lay your crochet headband flat on a piece of fleece fabric, making sure the stretch of the fabric is lengthwise.
  • Trace the headband leaving ¼ inch on each end.
  • Cut the fleece out, line up ends and hand or machine stitch together at ¼ inch.
  • Hand-stitch the flower to the headband.
  • Single crochet end of headband together
  • Place the fleece headband into the crochet headband (lining up the end seams wrong sides together) and whipstitch around the entire headband on both sides using a coordinating embroidery floss or thread.
