Recipe: Graham Cracker Christmas Candy

I’ve been seeing different versions of this recipe on the blogosphere and decided to try it out and put my own twist to it.  Let me tell you, it’s super easy and super yummy.

  • graham crackers
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips
  • 2 chopped candy canes and/or nuts (optional)

Make It:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Line a cookie sheet with tin foil
  • Place graham crackers flat to cover foil

  • Melt butter and brown sugar together and stir
  • Pour mixture over graham crackers and spread

  • Bake for 5 minutes in oven until bubbly

  • Sprinkle the 2 cups of chocolate chips on top of butter/sugar mixture and wait a few minutes until they melt

  • Spread chocolate with a spatula
  • Sprinkle nuts/candy cane pieces over chocolate

  • Place in freezer for about 1 hour to harden.
  • Break pieces apart with your hands
  • Store in freezer
  • Enjoy!
  • I’ve also seen this recipe using saltine/soda crackers instead of graham crackers.  It’s fun to experiment with the ingredients.

*Would make a nice gift and fun to get the kiddos involved!
